IGN – IDEE
Kutuko took part in the audiovisual renewal of Spain’s Spatial Data Infrastructure, IDEE. The project combines a new visual identity with an information film explaining how geographic data is organised and shared.
Making a data infrastructure visible
The narrative challenge is to make a system connecting public bodies, scientists and citizens easier to understand. A combination of 3D imagery and 2D motion graphics balances visual impact with explanation, giving structure to complex information.
Kutuko’s contribution
Storyboard planning organises the ideas before visual development. Creative direction, 3D artistry, 2D animation and sound bring the two visual languages together in complementary roles.

The creative challenge we faced throughout the process was the coexistence of the 3D and 2D styles. We had to project at a very early stage how and when we would visually intersperse both styles. In terms of workflow, we had to plan very well how to optimize and organize it (phases and hierarchy) so that it would not turn against us.
As a project of this nature, its workflow has nothing to do with that of a fully 3D project. There was an added difficulty because we had to convey to the client as clearly as possible how we wanted to set up the project, which led us to draw a very detailed story of each scene.
